Abstract Vertical Sculpture

Ned Walley’s new abstract vertical sculpture is built around movement, balance, and an energetic series of sweeping forms.

The tall composition rises from a substantial base before opening into curved and tapered elements that reach outward in several directions. Rather than depending on a single solid mass, the sculpture incorporates large areas of negative space, making the surrounding environment part of the composition.

Its dark surface, accented by areas of green patina, helps define the changing contours of the piece. Broad forms transition into narrow lines and pointed shapes, creating contrast throughout the sculpture while maintaining a continuous visual rhythm from the base to the uppermost elements.

Because of its height and open construction, the sculpture presents a noticeably different silhouette from every angle. The combination of scale, line, and negative space gives this work a strong presence while allowing it to remain visually light and active.
